Publication Ethics and Plagiarism Policy

Integrity in research and publication is paramount at the International Journal of Education & Technology (IJE-TECH). We rigorously check for plagiarism and ensure the originality of all submitted work.

  • Screening: Every manuscript submitted to IJE-TECH undergoes screening using Turnitin plagiarism detection software before entering the formal peer-review process. This screening assesses both textual similarity and potential indicators of AI-generated content.
  • Thresholds: Manuscripts exhibiting a textual similarity score exceeding 20% (excluding references, bibliography, and properly quoted text) may be rejected prior to review or returned to the authors for revision. Similarly, submissions flagged with significant indicators suggesting substantial use of AI-generated text beyond acceptable limits (e.g., for minor editing assistance) may also face rejection or require clarification and revision to ensure adherence to authorship standards.
  • Action: If plagiarism or unauthorized/undisclosed use of AI tools is detected after publication, the journal will follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines, which may include issuing corrections or retractions.
  • Authors' Responsibility: Authors must ensure their submitted work is original, accurately represents their own research and contributions, and appropriately cites all sources used. The use of AI tools in the writing process must be appropriately disclosed according to IJE-TECH's author guidelines. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
